We went for Rowan's 6-month checkup today. You'll be happy to know he's healthy and developing well. As if we'd expect anything else. He's 27 3/4" long and in the 90th percentile for height (which means 90% of babies his age are shorter than he is). He's also in the 90th percentile for weight, and for head circumference (that's important, you know...gotta' have room for that brain to grow!). In case you weren't sure about my own judgment, a medical professional has confirmed the diagnosis of TEETH. Yes, there are two visible (and tangible for sure).
The weight, well, I'll leave it a mystery because I did get a picture of him on the scale again. So, you'll have to be on the lookout for that picture of the day. Suffice it to say, you might be a little surprised. Oh, yes, and we got more vaccinations today. Four band-aids on the little thighs. :-(
In lighter news, yesterday Rowan had his first trip to the library. It was chilly (about 32 degrees) so we bundled up, and thankfully the university was closed for MLK day so we were able to park near the building. I strolled Rowan in, and he was whipping his head left and right to take in the towering books on either side of him. Have you been to a library recently? I recommend it. The smell of so many books makes you feel smarter! :-) Anyway, I digress. The point of the story is when I got home, I noticed the library had mis-labeled my book and in fact it wasn't the one I thought. So I called to see if they have the right one, and as part of my plea for the librarian to go up the elevator and physically look on the shelf for me, I explained how I just got home after dragging myself and my baby out in the cold all for naught. The man said, "Oh, I think I checked you out. You had the little guy with the big blue eyes, right?"
That's me!
