Brace yourself for the uproarious laughter in this after-dinner video clip. You should know that Rowan has graduated from pureed foods to feeding himself chunks of meat, vegetables, fruit, and potatoes. At dinner time especially, we eschew the Gerber jars and let Rowan feed himself. Not only does he prefer it, we then have our hands free to (gasp!) eat our own food! Wow. Anyway, Grandmommy has been here visiting and obviously her antics are beyond hilarious for Rowan.
This clip is especially funny if you know (as you all will, once I tell you) that after I eat a large meal, I tend to get...what's the word...giddy. I laugh hysterically, act goofy (yes, beyond my normal goofiness), and generally make a fool of myself. I'm pretty sure it's somehow related to the blood sugar spike (don't worry, yes, I've been tested to be sure there's nothing to worry about medically). Anyway, obviously Rowan and I should avoid eating a large meal at the same time because we might just laugh everybody else out of the house! Look out, Thanksgiving dinner companions!
Oh, one more thing: I didn't realize it until watching the video back again, but it is possible Rowan is really trying to say "more!" when Grandmommy stops her silliness. It happens twice, if you watch carefully: Grandmommy gets quiet, Rowan stops laughing, Rowan says "Mmm". (Yes, we've been teaching him "more" for food, but I'm not sure we've used to to mean "Give me another spoonful of craziness, please!")
